Bangladesh’s first hatchery by-product line launched by Kazi Farms

In early 2024, Kazi Farms took an important step towards more sustainable hatchery operations by setting up Bangladesh’s first dedicated hatchery by-product processing plant. As one of the country’s leading poultry producers, Kazi Farms recognised the need to manage hatchery waste, including infertile eggs, eggshells, and rejected chicks, in a more responsible and efficient way.

The goal was clear: reduce environmental impact, recover nutritional value, and support the company’s broader ambitions around sustainability and circular agriculture.

Compact batch cooker setup with scalable capacity

To bring this idea to life, Kazi Farms partnered with Mavitec Rendering to supply a solution tailored to their scale and future growth plans. At the heart of the installation is our 1,800-litre batch cooker (the most compact model in our range) combined with essential peripheral equipment and an odor reduction system to ensure clean and compliant processing.

The current setup processes up to 5,000 kg of hatchery by-products per week, with room to scale up to four times that volume as demand increases. The modular design allows for future capacity upgrades without major layout changes — a key benefit for operations with long-term growth in mind.

Flexible processing solution for hatchery by-products

The Mavitec порционный котёл is known for its versatility and robust design. Capable of handling a wide range of animal by-products, it’s an ideal solution not only for hatcheries, but for farms, slaughterhouses, and processors seeking to turn waste streams into usable products.

In this case, the system enables Kazi Farms to recover proteins and fats from hatchery materials that would otherwise be discarded. These end products can be repurposed for use in feed or other industrial applications, supporting both cost-efficiency and waste reduction. With this new facility, Kazi Farms is putting circular thinking into practice, using smart technology to reduce waste and recover value. The project is an example of how hatcheries, even on a relatively compact scale, can take meaningful steps toward more sustainable production systems.
