In the mid-2010s to 2020s, Ukraine emerged as a key hub for investments in poultry processing. Amid this growth, a poultry processor recognised the potential to create value from its poultry by-products.<\/a> The company aimed to set up a facility capable of efficiently processing large quantities of feathers and blood into high-quality end products. However, the plant’s location close to a residential area added a major challenge: ensuring a sustainable process with minimal environmental impact, especially in terms of odour control.<\/p>\n

Efficient feather and blood rendering with integrated odour control<\/h2>\n

To achieve their goals, the company partnered with Mavitec Rendering. We installed two complete processing lines, each with a capacity of 5 tons per hour, specifically designed for the handling of poultry feathers and blood. Our proven solutions enabled the production of premium feather meal and blood meal, both valuable protein sources for various applications, including the feed industry.\u00a0At the same time, the systems were configured with advanced odour control solutions.<\/a> By using a combination of tightly sealed processing units, efficient vapour handling, and specialized air treatment systems, the plant was able to operate without causing odour issues in the surrounding environment.<\/p>\n

High-quality meals and controlled emissions<\/h2>\n

The new rendering facility has transformed what was once considered waste into profitable, high-quality products. Thanks to the purity and consistency of the feather and blood meals produced, the company was able to unlock new export opportunities and meet international quality standards.\u00a0Additionally, the plant\u2019s advanced design ensures that environmental emissions remain under control \u2014 a critical factor for maintaining a positive relationship with the local community.<\/p>\n
